🔦 Resource Spotlight: Startup Week 2025
In business, smart investments aren’t just about money — they’re also about how you spend your time. One of the smartest moves you can make this spring? Spend a few days learning, connecting, and growing at Startup Week 2025 (May 12–15).
What is Startup Week?
It’s the Triad’s annual celebration of entrepreneurship, packed with workshops, panels, pitch competitions, and more — all led by Launch Greensboro, the entrepreneurial arm of the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce.
This year’s theme, Startups That Build Things, shines a spotlight on industries experiencing rapid growth right here in the Triad — aerospace, advanced manufacturing, robotics, and beyond.
Across four days, you’ll get access to:
Founder-led panels on tech commercialization, robotics, AI, and e-commerce growth
Hands-on demos from cutting-edge startups like Lucid Bots
High-powered investor events and private founder-investor meetups
Capital Connects, the Triad’s premier startup pitch competition
And the best part? Every event is free to attend — all you have to do is show up ready to learn, connect, and grow.
🔥 Hot Take: Time Management Doesn’t Work Like You Think It Does
As entrepreneurs, we’re used to thinking about financial investments — but one of the smartest investments you can make early on in your small business journey is time.
The tricky part? Time management doesn’t always look the way we imagine. We spend our days head-down, hammering through the urgent to-do list — while the "do-later" list quietly piles up. And somehow, the tasks that we push off tend to be the ones that would save us time in the long run.
A few weeks ago, I joined a Beehiiv webinar about newsletters. It lasted more than half the day (and no, I didn’t stick around for every second), but I did spend a few solid hours taking notes and soaking up other people’s insights.
At first, just the thought of putting off almost an entire day’s worth of work gave me the heebiejeebies — but by the end, I felt relieved. For once, I had real space to think about how I approached this newsletter — with fresh context, smarter strategies, and clearer decision-making. And now? The small investment of a few hours has saved me countless more.
Here’s a mindset shift to help YOU with YOUR business:
Think of events like Startup Week not as "taking time away from work," but as "fueling future success."
One hour learning from an expert can save you months of trial and error.
One new connection can open doors that change everything.
When you carve out time to learn new skills, connect with mentors, and discover new opportunities, you’re planting seeds for future growth. The payoff might not happen overnight — but just like a smart financial investment, the returns compound over time.
