🔦 Entrepreneur Spotlight: Dara & Morgan Alper of Molten Makerspace

After relocating to the Triad, glass artist Dara Alper noticed something was missing — a hands-on, creative space. With over 13 years of experience, she launched a mobile glassworking business offering workshops and corporate team-building.

Meanwhile, Morgan — a seasoned entrepreneur who helped artists market and sell their work — saw the bigger picture. Together, they co-founded Molten Makerspace, combining their talents to build something more than just a studio: a community focused makerspace, gamerspace, and entrepreneurial resource hub.

At Molten, you’ll find glassblowing, 3D printing, sewing, candle-making, laser engraving, board games, and more. Whether you’re a hobbyist, looking for the perfect date night, or an entrepreneur… It’s a space where ideas and creativity come to life, and community comes first.

Like many entrepreneurs, they’ve faced challenges. “Nobody can prepare you for the stress of becoming an entrepreneur,” they shared, “but it’s also the best and most rewarding decision I’ve made.” That balance — between pressure and purpose — continues to shape their vision.

Their events are part of that mission. Weekly Molten Makerfaires connect the community with local creatives and businesses. The Gamerspace is always open, but Sundays offer free board game play. Year-round classes provide accessible, enriching experiences for all. With no vendor fees and a DIY, welcoming spirit, Molten is helping build a thriving local ecosystem.
